materialistic

sometimes i wonder for a better solution.

would you rather save up every single penny while you're still young, so that you're able to "enjoy life" when you're older (as in getting a big house, big car, travelling etc)?

OR

would you rather spend on clothes, shoes and makeup to fulfill your vanity needs? (well, life is short ain't it? and you can't bring money to your grave)

i have this ongoing endless debate inside my mind regarding this issue. i believe that both has its pros and cons.. but which is a better solution?

like some might say, we lose our youth as time goes by.. so even if you have the moolah to shop in the future, the fashion trend might not be suitable for your age. as usual, teenagers and young adults are always targets in this competitive market. in short, nicer clothes are always suitable for the young ones.

but then, what if you shop endlessly to get nice clothes and shoes until you're unable to save up? i believe this is definitely not a wise choice, well, unless you have a rich husband or a rich dad to financially support you all the time.

basically i feel so stuck in this mess right now. a part of me wanna look good all the time. and another part of me wants to save up for my future.

sigh, human ah human.
tsk tsk tsk.

on the other hand, even if i want to shop till i drop in Muar.. i probably won't be able to do that. cuz all the clothes here are practically those China-made chiffon clothes that are sold online! despite the disappointing quality, they are also overpriced.. like way OVER.

imagine a top sold for RM59.90 when it's only sold for RM15.90 online?

okay there are nice clothes available for sale here too, but they're really expensive as well. as an Accounting aka kiam siap person, i don't see the point spending RM120 on a piece of cloth (when i can get it for RM20-RM30 elsewhere).. not as if i'm gonna wear till i'm old right?

since i was so stressed and was in desperate of retail therapy, i tried my luck in KSL City (yes i'm back in JB for the weekend). and once again, i was seriously disappointed by the boutiques there. yes they might be cheap (1 for RM25, 2 for RM50).. but have a look at their quality! it's so effing terrible.. and they're so crumpled too. imagine wearing your clothes for few minutes and it gets crumpled already.

i managed to get few tops there though. spotted this shop that sells sleeveless tops for only RM25. some of their tops can be found in Taobao, but some others are pretty nice too in terms of the quality and design. sadly, i have to match all these sleeveless tops with a cardigan or jacket because of my fat arms.

i wanted to get a sundress yesterday but i wasn't able to find any. sigh, so disappointed. i'm totally short of clothes right now. well, i think i have to make do with what i have. me no rich man's daughter k.

if only we have places like Bugis Street in JB. cheap and not-too-bad quality. AND, if only our RM is on par or almost on par with SGD or USD. then i'll be happily shopping in Singapore's Cotton On and H&M every month. IF ONLY.

despite the satisfaction of earning few more clothes, i can't help but to feel a little heartache when i think of my bank balance. sighh what to do? if only i have a better job and a better pay.

guess it's back to balancing both my current and future needs.
save and spend wisely people! ;)
